Original FOBS Group
The original Friends of Brandon Station (FOBS) was established in 2003 FOBS adopted the station under the "One" Railways Adoption Scheme and became members of the Association of Community Railways Partnership, ACorP. They initiated many improvements and enhancements to the station including new seating, rebuilding and repainting shelters, building planters and maintaining the stationmaster's garden. They also created decorative murals to adorn the station buildings. The group was busy for nearly 10 years but disbanded when their hopes of refurbishing the station buildings were not being supported by Abellio, the railway operator at that time.
Below are some of the members meeting with the MP Richard Spring in 2006 and some of the improvements made in 2008. The later picture shows FoBS members meeting with Liz Truss and Matt Hancock in 2011.
